Introducing the USS Liberty Legacy Scholarship Program.
As part of our continued effort to honor the legacy of the USS Liberty and give back to the families who have carried that legacy forward, the USS Liberty Veterans Association is preparing to launch the USS Liberty Legacy Scholarship Pilot Program. For our inaugural 2026 pilot, the LVA plans to award 1-5 $1,000 scholarships to students with a direct family connection to the USS Liberty. Eligible applicants may include high school seniors, college students, and students attending trade or technical schools.
To qualify, applicants must have a direct family connection to a USS Liberty crew member, including descendants of those who were killed on June 8,1967, as well as children orgrandchildren of USS Liberty survivors and crew members.
This first scholarship is intended to be just the beginning.
Our goal is to use the 2026 pilot to establish a program that can grow in the years ahead, ultimately creating additional scholarships and educational opportunities while keeping the legacy of the USS Liberty alive for future generations.
We believe there is something particularly meaningful about taking the sacrifice and service of the Liberty crew and using that legacy to help their families pursue their own futures.
